Forest Brook Trucking - Volvo Trucks

Kriete Truck Center in Green Bay does a really good job working with us, keeping us moving.

– Jay Jukem, Owner Forest Brook Trucking

The story of Forest Brook begins long before their first truck ever hit the highway. It starts in 1940, when a 160-acre Wisconsin farm was purchased for just over eight thousand dollars. What began as Forest Brook Farms has grown into something much larger. Forest Brook is now home to four interconnected businesses: the original farming operation, a seed sales division, a freight brokerage, and a trucking company. Though the scale has changed, the heart of the operation hasn’t. It’s still a family-run business, driven by passion, purpose, and a whole lot of hard work.

Jay and Denise Jukem, who now lead the business, raised their children here, grew their business here, and cultivated a team of employees they consider extended family. Every decision they make is rooted in integrity and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way.

Forest Brook Trucking emerged out of necessity. The farm needed a few semis to haul crops during harvest. But as the operation grew, so did the vision. Today, Forest Brook Trucking runs freight across the entire lower 48 states, with over-the-road sleeper trucks handling bulk commodities with care and consistency.

Running a trucking operation that never stops rolling requires more than just equipment. It takes a trusted partner who understands the urgency, the pressure, and the people behind it.

Jay admits he was brand neutral at the start. But after trying out a few Volvos and seeing how they handled, especially with automatic transmissions and Volvo’s strong emphasis on safety, it was a natural fit. “Kriete Truck Center in Green Bay does a really good job working with us, keeping us moving,” Jay says.

"The reliability has been great. And our relationship with the team in Green Bay is phenomenal. I’m on a first-name basis with almost everyone up there. I have their personal phone numbers. That kind of connection means everything in this business.”

–Sean Higgins, Shop Manager

For Sean Higgins, that close communication is critical. Together, the two teams coordinate schedules, prioritize uptime, and solve problems before they slow anyone down.

“Our relationship with the team in Green Bay is phenomenal,” Higgins says. “I’m on a first-name basis with almost everyone up there. I have their personal phone numbers. That kind of connection means everything in this business.”

Forest Brook’s commitment to people extends beyond their internal team. They take the time to understand the personal needs of their drivers. Some want to be home every weekend. Others prefer long hauls. They tailor schedules to make sure drivers have the balance they need, because they believe work should fit into life, not the other way around.

Forest Brook is a story of legacy and hard work, of innovation grounded in tradition. It’s a business built from the soil up, still rooted in agriculture, and still moving forward.
