Drive down any highway in Wisconsin and you will likely see a blue Mack® Granite pouring concrete. For the Zignego family, those trucks are more than equipment, they are the heartbeat of a business built over three generations.

Brothers Vernon and Leroy “Pete” Zignego founded the company in 1954 after serving in World War II and earning degrees in civil engineering. They started with small sidewalk repair jobs in Milwaukee and grew into a group of businesses that now includes Zignego Paving, Zignego Ready Mix and Z Mix USA.

“They started with sidewalk repair jobs in Milwaukee,” said Terry Zignego, technical supervisor at Zignego Paving. “From there, the company kept growing, and now we are in our third generation. What my grandfather and great-uncle built is something we are stll proud to carry forward."

A Fleet That Grew With the Company

“I took over for my father running the fleet,” Terry said. “I started with a pickup truck and a couple shovels, and now we are up to about 70 heavy trucks and well over 100 pieces of heavy equipment.”

That kind of growth requires reliable equipment and dependable service.

“We have always been impressed with the quality and reliability of Mack Trucks,” Terry said. “And also with the service and parts and cooperation of the Kriete Group.”

With Nexpart, Andrew and the Zignego fleet team can log in at any time to look up parts, check real-time inventory at their preferred Kriete store and confirm pricing before placing an order. The system gives them access to OEM parts for Mack, Volvo, Hino, Isuzu and Autocar trucks, as well as a wide range of All Makes truck parts from trusted vendors like KAMP and Road Choice.

Kriete has done a great job servicing us on both the parts and service side, helping us with tooling and technology to get the trucks fixed and back on the road.
