Farewell George Pavin
From the desk of David Kriete: President & CEO – Kriete Group
It is with a great deal of pleasure and gratitude that I formally announce the retirement of George Pavin, effective September 4, 2018.
George joined the Kriete Group in September 1998 after roughly an 18-year career with Mack Trucks, to serve Kriete as the company’s President, succeeding Dave Haertl. While serving as President, George also oversaw various critical aspects of the business, including major account oversight with Putzmeister, Veolia, NM Transfer and others. In addition, George ran Kriete Truck Center – Fond du Lac and later Kriete Truck Center – Madison.
During George’s 20-year tenure at Kriete, he oversaw the company’s growth from a two-store, single brand company to what the Kriete Group touts today – an organization with 8 dealerships, 4 brands and over 380 employees. Managing the company’s growth has been and continues to be no easy task, but with George’s leadership and professional business presence, the transition and change has been more manageable.
As Regional Vice President of Mack Trucks’ central region, George always dealt with the Kriete Group and its customers with the utmost graciousness, professionalism and the highest standard of character. These attributes only increased as George transitioned his career and his family to WI in 1998 to take over running the Kriete family business.
George remains one of the most trusted, kind-hearted and thoughtful leaders that has ever worked at Kriete. It is a blessing to have had George as a part of the Kriete Group and an extension of the Kriete family these past 20 years.
George leaves a proud legacy for the next generation of Kriete leadership to build upon. It is fair to say that the organization would not be where it is today if it weren’t for the efforts and steadfast leadership of George and his team(s).
George – we thank you for all your selfless contributions to the Kriete Group for the past 20 years. We are grateful for everything you’ve given, worked for and accomplished. Thank you for touching the lives of so many and being a wonderful Christian role model and leader at Kriete.
It is very sad to see George retire from the organization, but we are happy that while giving his career to Kriete he has raised a wonderful family – Kathie, Mike (Katherine), Audrey (Kyle) – and will have more time to spend with all of them.
Please help me in thanking George for everything he’s done from day one to build this great company. The Kriete Group is truly a much more significant employer and industry leader because George helped shape and support it.
Thank you, George!
